Over the next few days I will share some images we took on our journey to film nature in the Catlins.

The Catlins is a very special region in New Zealand. Way down in the deep south of the South Island this is one of the least densely populated spots on the planet. It’s very cold and can be windblown. The ocean is rich and teeming with life. Here you will find the worlds rarest penguin, the Yellow Eyed Penguin, and large colonies of seals on long deserted beaches. The forests were alive with varied birdsong and this is where we recorded our best soundtracks.

This image is of the sunrise at Waikawa. At the end of the earth the sunrises last long and are truly stunning.
